One of the points raised by my tutor in her feedback on my 4th Assignment was in regards to the fact she found my two pond photos a little frighting because of the size of the two subjects within the frame. If I'm honest I can see where she's coming from in the fact that they really would encourage you to want to put a pond into your garden, so following her advice I've had another go at them but this time I've used slightly different photos of the Dragonfly and Frog to try and make them a little less imposing in the end product. Below is what I've come up with.
By having the subject smaller in the end image I do see what she meant about making the end product a bit easier to look at but then on the other side I'm not so happy with how the image of the frog blends together with the background. Unfortunately a lot of the surrounding foliage blends through leaving dark patches like along the left hand edge meaning the end product just doesn't look as good. With the Dragonfly image there really isn't any of these kind of issues and I'm pretty happy with how this has turned out, not to sure about the slight purple hue that seems to have developed but should be able to get ride of this by adding a slightly warmer filter in Photoshop so isn't to much of an issue.
A bit better with a yellow filter added as it removes the cast from the green areas but still not maybe as good as it could be. Maybe have to accept it isn't ever going to be perfect but what I've got is pretty close I think now and its resolved the size issue if nothing else.
