Mind Maps.

To help focus my thoughts on a area for further investigation my tutors suggested creating some Mind Maps, these should give me  away of getting down some ideas and hopefully at the same time coming up with some different ones that maybe I hadn't considered before. To do this I used a piece of software I found online at www.spiderscribe.net, I had a good look around trying to find a good free program that was pretty straight forward and user friendly offering the tool I was looking for, to me this was the best by far it isn't perfect but it gave me the space I was looking for to grow my ideas.

I haven't had a great deal of success using mind map/brainstorming techniques before so I  approached this process with a little trepidation not really knowing whether it was going to be a great deal of use to me or not, fair enough it's been a long time since my school days when I last seriously used one but still my past experiences haven't been great. If you follow this link My Mindmap you'll see the end results of my attempt. What I've done is go back to my roots, I wanted to look at why I first got into photography seriously (this beginning my love of the natural world) and see how I could expand on this and build hopefully giving myself some starting points for this course. I'm fairly happy with how the process turned out, after my initial concerns I actually found it a very useful way of expanding on the central idea and I now feel that I might be starting to form some idea of where I might be heading with my work.
