Got my feedback on my first assignment and I'm more than happy to say the overall reaction was pretty good with some areas that still need some work. The first section which I focused on the roots of conservation photography she felt was well researched and had a good flow to it but as I moved onto more modern forms it went a bit down hill. Her overall feel was it felt a bit more note like instead of a well form essay, on reading now for the four or firth time I can see where shes coming from and as I tried to explain I found it more difficult the researching modern photography due to the real lack of available material. I find it strange none has look in depth at the use of conservation photography today but I just can't seem to find it. To rectify this I'm going back to do some more research hopefully to turn up more work relating to my chosen field. Another point she picked up on was the lack of photos used in the latter half of my essay, this is mainly down to copyright issues with modern work. You have to be very careful about what you use so I found it hard to really include anything, I did add links to the relevant sites where each persons work could be found but she clearly felt this didn't really work when I'd used examples earlier on in my work. A final major point she pick up on was the use of punctuation, this has always been an issue for me but I hoped it wouldn't be that bad after I'd given it a couple of reads but obviously I was wrong. One point she has made in regards to this and improving it is letting another person give it a look through correcting these errors before sending it on down the line. A fair enough point and something I'd never considered before so I'll be doing this before I send it back to her. All in all not to bad a start I think but still some work to do.
